[Bigcommerce] Excluding Gift Certificates from Earning Points

You can specify whether or not points can be earned for BUYING native Bigcommerce gift certificates at the "Earning Points" settings under "Program Settings".

Please note that customers will always earn points for orders that are PAID FOR with gift certificates.

1) If an order contains both gift certificate and non-gift certificate items, any coupon codes, discount amount, store credit will be first applied to the non-gift certificate items.

For Example:

If there are 2 products in an order: Gift Certificate ($50) and Product A ($50)

Case 1: Customer applied $40 store credit
Loyalty points will be rewarded for $10, being the amount paid for Product A.

Case 2: Customer applied $60 store credit
No Loyalty points will be rewarded.

2) In the case of partial refunds, it is assumed that the refund amount is first applied to the non-gift certificate items.

For Example:

If there are 2 products in an order: Gift Certificate ($50) and Product A ($50)

Case 1: A partial refund of $40 is applied
Loyalty points equivalent to $40 would be refunded.

Case 2: A partial refund of $60 is applied
Loyalty points equivalent to $50 would be refunded. Net 0 points would be rewarded for the order.
